About Micro Technologies, Inc.

Founded in 1996, Micro Technologies Inc. is the only commercial laboratory providing comprehensive testing and health services to farms, businesses, government agencies, and scientific research institutions involved with aquatic species. Initially focused on the needs of the salmon aquaculture industry, capabilities and services have expanded to other species and to areas such as veterinary services, bivalve shellfish testing, and contract research.

Micro Technologies is United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved for export testing and is recognized by numerous international, state, and provincial regulatory authorities. Diagnostic and regulatory testing is performed on a variety of coldwater and warmwater finfish, shellfish, and crustacean species; both from cultured and wild sources. In addition, the laboratory conducts valuable scientific and product related research that helps solve significant aquaculture and aquatic animal health problems – such as work on developing a vaccine to combat infectious salmon anemia virus (ISAV) and diagnostic assay development for koi herpes virus (KHV).
