Bivalves
In response to the rapid growth of the bivalve shellfish industry, new aquatic animal health regulations are being implemented to control pathogen movements. Micro Technologies provides inspection and diagnostic services to an increasing number of shellfish growers, helping them to move broodstock and seed in a timely manner with average testing turn-around times of 7-10 days. Our laboratory uses OIE- and AFS- recommended protocols and is recognized by numerous states to perform testing for Haplosporidium nelsoni (MSX),Perkinsus marinus, QPX and neoplasia, among others.
