Zebrafish (Danio rerio) have become a major species used in biomedical research. Keeping colonies healthy is an important consideration when making investments in both animal and human health . Micro Technologies has provided diagnostic and pathogen surveillance services to institutions such as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital. Over the past 5 years, Micro Technologies has helped facilitate the shipment of bloodworms (Glycera dibranchiata) both domestically and internationally. Animals are screened for major shrimp viruses and a veterinary inspection is conducted at the production facility Our work has helped numerous companies move their products more efficiently, maximizing product quality and minimizing pathogen transport and environmental contamination. Juvenile eels (Anguilla rostrata) are collected in the spring all along the east coast of the United States. Micro Technologies facilitates movement of eels internationally through veterinary oversight and assists in making sure that product gets to its destination. |
